In collaboration with "Le Musée d'Histoire de Nantes" (History Museum of Nantes) we worked on a project questionning the global access to public to heritage. Because this project took place during the 2020 first french lockdown we also worked on remotely access.
For this project, we chose to examine the possibility of representing an exhibition remotely without using digital technology in order to offer to a young audience a playful and manual activity.
We also wanted to open up the term "accessibility" by proposing a solution that would take into account the various needs of children affected by autism.
The activity we created was based on the self creation of a board game that kid could cut and assemble at home. The dimensions of the board are in "LEGO" scale in order for children to be able to play with it. The final result would be a small reconstitution of the exhibition.
The floor of the board is inspired by a british invention "the Sensory Map" some museum use as a preparation tool for the visit of autistic audiences. This medium allows to explain the different sensory stimulations an autistic person would have to face during the exhibition.
In order to best prepare the visit we also created a didactic booklet of the exhibition based on the principle of photographic reporting to also help understanding the space in advance in order to plan a more serene visit.
